John A. Duncan


John A. Duncan, 78, of Brownsburg, Ind. died Friday, July 23.

He was born in Henderson County to the late John and Viola Duncan. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Navy in his 20s. He moved to Indiana several years ago where he worked for Allison's Transmission for 27 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Malachy Church and the United Auto Workers.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; two sisters, Jean Duncan Vick and Helen Suncan Strong; and five brothers, Leo Duncan, Clement Duncan, Dickie Duncan, Philip Duncan and Bernard Duncan.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Pat; two daughters, Pamela Christian and husband Brian Wood and Kathy Brower and husband Steven; three sons, Mike Duncan and wife Julie, Ronald Duncan and wife Janet, and Roger Duncan and wife Vicki; a brother, Charlie Duncan of Morganfield; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.

Services were held Tues, July 27 at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg. Burial was in St. Malachy North Cemetery in Brownsburg.
