Gary C. Babbs, 66, of Grangertown, died at 12:20 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010, at his home.
He was a retired coal miner, truck driver, and farmer. He was a member of Grangertown Baptist Church. He enjoyed horseback riding, training horses, and gardening, and was tina Turner's #1 fan.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Babbs; and his stepfather, Marion C. “Poodle” Ames.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Babbs Nall of Morganfield and Jeannie Kay Babbs of Henderson; one son, Gary S. Babbs of Henderson; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were held Tuesday, July 27 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Don Collins officiating. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.
