Doris Atkinson Springer, 68, of Hartford, Ky. died at 2:41 a.m. Thursday, July 22 at Ohio County Hospital
She was born Sept. 3, 1941 in White Plains, Ky. She was retired from Dillard's Department Store in Vicksburg, Miss. She was a member of the Hartford Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Cordie Gary Atkinson; one sister, Maxine Atkinson; and two brothers, Denby 'Chuck' Atkinson and William Howard 'Sparkie' Atkinson.
Survivors include her husband, Wallie Eugene Springer; one son, Paul Allen Springer and wife Beverly of Pace, Fla.; three daughters, Deborah Spring Smith and husband Danny Louis of Paducah, Martha Sue Todd and husband James of Yorkville, Tenn., and Sarah Lee Canady and husband William Lynn of Enville, Tenn.; one brother, James 'Buck' Atkinson of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Nancy Miller of Morganfield and Milbra Long of Cleburne, Tex.; one sister-in-law, Nita Porter of Newburgh, Ind.; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, July 24 at the Hartford Church of Christ with Gary Puryear officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Poole, Ky.
