Educational Workshop at the Union County Public Library

MORGANFIELD - On Thursday, March 18 from 5 - 7 p.m., a Mid-Continent University ADVANTAGE representative will be holding an educational workshop to help prospective students thinking about attending any college or university in 2010 explore financial aid and grant opportunities. The event will take place at the Union County Public Library located at 126 South Morgan St. in Morganfield.

This event features a number of opportunities for adults as well as traditional students who might have an interest in starting or going back to college. An informational presentation will be held in the first hour from 5 – 6 on ADVANTAGE, an accelerated adult degree program designed for working adults to allow them to have an opportunity to fit school into their busy schedules in the same amount of time a traditional student would take to earn their degree. The financial aid workshop will be held from 6 – 7. This workshop is designed to assist potential/current students complete a Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) to ensure maximum grant money is received. Participants will need to bring their most recent tax returns and W-2’s. One-on-one assistance with completing the FAFSA form as well as grants including the Kentucky Tuition Grant (KTG and other related areas and the computers needed to complete these forms will be provided. Students of all ages are encouraged to attend free of charge.

Designed for working adults and career changers wishing to further their education, ADVANTAGE brings classes to local community classrooms throughout 27 cities and towns across Kentucky, southern Illinois and online.
